Stepping Off the Emotional Rollercoaster

Hello friends,

Let’s take a moment to talk about something we all experience but rarely discuss openly our emotions.

If we’re honest, emotions can feel like a rollercoaster. One moment we feel strong, hopeful, and steady. The next moment fear, doubt, disappointment, or anxiety shows up unexpectedly and takes us for a ride we didn’t ask for.

Many of us respond by trying to push those emotions aside. We stay busy. We distract ourselves. Sometimes we even pretend we’re fine when we know deep down we’re struggling.

But here’s a truth that has changed the way I handle those moments: God never asks us to ignore what we feel. Instead, He invites us to bring our emotions to Him.

Our feelings often signal small cues that something deeper may be happening within our hearts. Rather than running from them, we can pause and ask simple questions:

What is this emotion trying to tell me?
Why is this affecting me so strongly right now?
Is there something beneath the surface that God wants to heal?

When we slow down and bring those feelings honestly before God, something remarkable happens. The chaos begins to settle, and clarity starts to take its place.

God is not intimidated by your emotions. He isn’t overwhelmed by your fears, your questions, or your doubts. In fact, He invites you to process them with Him.

So if today feels overwhelming, I encourage you to pause for a moment. Sit quietly with your Savior. Talk with Him openly and honestly.

His grace is sufficient, even in the middle of emotional storms. And sometimes the greatest peace we experience comes when we simply step off the rollercoaster and rest in His presence.
