A Better Tomorrow: Striving for Peace, Joy, Hope and Compassion is a deeply honest and moving memoir that traces one woman’s extraordinary journey from fear and trauma to forgiveness, faith, and inner peace.
Taken from her beloved grandmother and aunt as a young child in Nevis and sent to England, Veronica entered a world filled with bullying, racial abuse, sexual trauma, and the heavy burdens of early motherhood. Yet through every trial — the loss of innocence, difficult marriages, the death of loved ones, and life’s relentless struggles — she discovered an unshakeable strength rooted in prayer and the unconditional love of her mother.
Veronica M. Liburd is a hairdressing business owner, lecturer, psychotherapist, and debut author. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is a praying woman of deep Christian faith who reached the blessed age of 70 in the year her first book, A Better Tomorrow, was published.
Born in Gingerland, Nevis, in 1955, Veronica’s life has been shaped by both profound challenges and remarkable resilience. Her experiences of abandonment, abuse, racial bullying, and personal loss have been transformed through faith, forgiveness, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth. As a qualified psychotherapist and experienced lecturer, she has dedicated much of her life to helping others heal and find their voice.
